Released. --C. W. Hoffman, of Fauquier, who was arrested for refusing to take anything for his goods in Charlottesville except Virginia money, was released yesterday from arrest, it being shown that he had sold all his goods for Confederate money, except a lot of cloth, which he could not replace except with Virginia funds, and these could only sell for Virginia notes. Mr. Hoffman has three sons in the Confederate Army. His application to the Treasurer of a Charlottesville bank was to ring to take anything for his goods in Charlottesville except Virginia money, was released yesterday from arrest, it being shown that he had sold all his goods for Confederate money, except a lot of cloth, which he could not replace except with Virginia funds, and these could only sell for Virginia notes. Mr. Hoffman has three sons in the Confederate Army. His application to the Treasurer of a Charlottesville bank was to redeem notes which promised on their face redemption in Virginia money.
