Mr. Mitchell, of Ark., offered the following resolution, which was agreed to:
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Treasury be requested to inform the Senate if he has any official information of the appropriation of the war tax of the State of Arkansas by the Commanding General of the Trans-Mississippi Department.
Mr. Lewis, of Ga., presented the following resolution, which was adopted:
Resolved, That it be referred to the Military Committee to inquire into, and report upon, the expediency of instructing the Secretary of War to have any military order revoked or modified which may now exist, and may interfere with the transportation of wheat and oats from Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee, to the South and Southwest, which may be intended for seed, making it, however, a condition of such order t
