., said the report and bill submitted by the Senator from Kentucky, (Mr. Simms,) as Chairman of the Select Committee, demonstrated that great and earnest attention had been given to the subject by the measures of reform in our hospital system recommended in the report and embraced in the bill under consideration. The report presents many valuable and interesting statistical facts, showing the superiority of females nurses as compared with males. In the Clopton Hospital, conducted by Mrs. Clopton, the mortality was only two per cent, of the whole number of inmates received. In the St. Francis De Sailes, conducted by the Sisters of Charity, with nine hundred patients, three per cent. At the Louisiana Hospital, conducted by the Sisters, six per cent.--At the Ladies' Hospital, Petersburg, four and a half per cent. Now, said Mr. Semmes, take the hospitals superintended by the males. In the General Hospital, No. 2, ten per cent.; No. 13, fourteen per cent; No. 3, twelve per cent

Fifty Dollars reward. --Ranaway, from the Henrico Poor-House, on the 3rd instant, my negro man John. Said fellow is about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, quite black, and is very stout, full face, and has but one eye, and is about 25 years old. It is highly probable that he is lurking about in the city of Richmond or in Henrico. If taken in either place, $25 will be paid, or $50 if taken up anywhere else and lodged in jail so I get him again, or if delivered to Clopton & Lyne, in Richmond. see 11--ts Richard B. Lyne.
Seventy-five Dollars reward. --Will be paid for the apprehension and delivery to Clopton & Lyne, of Richmond, of the boy Washington and woman Harriet, who are confidently supposed to be lurking about Richmond.--The boy was arrested in Richmond some three weeks ago, and made his escape from his guard after reaching Petersburg. The woman Harriet was seen about Rocketts in the month of June. Washington has been run away six months, and most of the time in the army about Richmond. He is about nineteen years old; rather low in stature, of stout, strong form; very black; stutters quite badly, and in speaking is constantly kicking out one foot or the other in a restless manner. His under lip hangs considerably. He probably pretends to be free. Harriett is the mother of Washington, and is about forty years old. She was hired in the West Point Hospital at the time that place fell into the hands of the Yankees, but probably made her escape to Richmond with our soldiers. She is
Twenty Dollars reward. --Ranaway, some time in August, from Mr. M. Baker, of Henrico, my man Oliver. Said fellow is about 5 feet six inches high, rather stout, dark complexion, and, I think, one of his front teeth out. His countenance generally is rather stern, but when spoken to brightens up. I will give the above reward for his apprehension and delivery Messrs. Clopton & Lyne, in Richmond, or confined in jail so I get him again. L. Washington. se 11--ts
