The accident on the Central Railroad. [correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.] Charlottesville, Va., Oct. 15. A frightful accident occurred last night about 11 o'clock, six miles from here, on the Central road, near the farm of Wm. W. Gilmer. The cars were thrown from the track by a cow, and seven persons killed--five soldiers and two colored men. The locomotive became detached, and was uninjured--Five cars and the tender were precipitated down an embankment 19 feet deep. One of the cars was knocked all to places; another was turned bottom upwards. One went partly over, but was not precipitated down the embankment, and one remained uninjured on the track. Geo. Griffith, of the Hampton Legion, from Abbeville, 8. C., Jas., H. Barnes, 18th Georgia, and --Ownes, of the 45th Georgia, were among the killed. John Smith, Company K. (Halifax,) of the 14th Virginia, had his leg amputated at the Delavan Hospital, by Drs. Allen and Davis. Those of the wounded were, George

Counsel for defendants concluded that the presentment made against the Parisians and can thrown out of Court by nolle prosequi in the first instance, because of some informality. The Commonwealth's Attorney could not elect of his commotion to continue the prosecution by information, but must go back and have a new indictment found. This view of the was opposed by Mr. Gilmer, for the prosecution who rent many authorities and made an ingenious argument in support of his position. The Court voted for submitted by defendants coursed, which will have the effect of putting an end to the end, unless a new indictment be found against the members of the Typographical Socity. C. S.
