M, Mitchell the Yankee astronomer, and General in command at Hilton Head, S. C., died on the 31st ult., a Beaufort, S. C., of yellow fever. He was a native of Kentucky, and graduated at West Point in the same class with Gen. Loe. Major-General J. B. Richardson, who was wounded in the battle of Antietam died at Sharpsburg, Md., on the night of the 31 inst.
