twelve months, were, in alphabetical order, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas. They were shortly afterwards joined by Arkansas, and, after Mr. Lincoln's proclamation of war against the seceders, by Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
