A correspondent, writing from Kinston, N. C., under date of January 2, 1863, says it is reported upon what is deemed good authority that the enemy are coming up the Nonse river in their gunboats and transports.
The impression is that their design is to land a heavy force at the month of Big Swift creek, on the North side of the Sense, and make a feint in the direction of Kinston, whilst a land force will march towards Wilmington, by way of Swedesboro', Onslow county.
It is also reported that the enemy are landing a heavy land force at Swedesboro' from Moorhead city, to move against Wilmington in the rear.
