A good deal of excitement was created in Danville yesterday by the riotous conduct of some of the soldiers (convalescent hospital patients) therein the log man's wagon was upset by a soldier, who was arrested by the Mayor and put in prison. The mass of the soldiers in the place to the number of 1,200 or 1,500 then collected around the jail swearing to have the man out or tear the jail down. The Mayor was firm in refusing to liberate him.
