wo of Farragut's gunboats have reached the lower mouth of the Vicksburg canal. One small boot has passed into Like Providence. The water is rushing into the lake at a rapid rate. Another cut off is reported 60 miles below Helena, by which to Yazoo city and Halves Bluff can be had. The Federal at Fort Palmerton, or Greenwood, are still held in check by the rebel battery. St. Louis, March 24.--A gentleman just from Vicksburg states that the steamer Diligent with the 8th Miscount, had succeas through Cypress Bayon which deb ches into the Yazoo opposite Johnson's plantation, and thence through Steele as Bayon into the flower, which empties into the Yazoo 20 miles above Baires Bluff. If this be so our fores are now in the rear of Yazoo city, and by reducing that port and Fort Pemberton may place Vicksburg in our hands. It was rumored that Haines Bluff was and the 8th Missouri bid gone up to garrison the place.--The river is falling and fears of an overflow of the camp ground are

From Kentucky, &c. Panola, Miss., March 24.; --The Memphis Bulletin is received. Louisville is to be fortified, and citizens sympathising with the Confederacy paroled. The Hetty Gilmore and crow had captured more Confederates on Green river. The Confederates bad occupied Owenten, Ky. The sale of firearms had been prohibited at Indianapolis. A Yankee dispatch says Fort Pemberton cannot be attacked by infantry. The Confederate force there is estimated at 6,000. It is stated that the fort once passed, no danger is apprehended between there and Yazoo City. The next news it was supposed would be flattering. Five small boats had arrived in the Coldwater with reinforcements. The position of the enemy was unknown. The Mississippi was falling at Memphis.
