Affairs on the black water. There is nothing from the Blackwater which can be relied on, except the fact that heavy firing was heard by citizens of Southampton county about daybreak Tuesday--some say they heard musketry as well as cannon. No intelligence had been received at the War Department last night of any movement or engagement near Suffolk.
Libby prison. --Twelve abolition prisoners were received into this prison yesterday. Two belonged to the 11th Pa Cavalry, six to the 1st New York Rifles, and four to the N. Y. Artillery. They were captured near Suffolk, where the enemy is reported to have a large force of cavalry posted. Some 200 Abolitionists are now here awaiting transportation to the United States.
