ations at the Court House of any county or corperation in the State where they may happen to be on the day of said election. Therefore, I, John Letcher, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, by virtue of authority vested in the Executive by law, do hereby proclaim that to supply said vacancies, elections will be held on the 4th Thursday of May next, being the 28th day of the in conformity to law and the ordinance of the Convention passed on the 6th day of December, 1861. Officers in military camps and posts, and Commissioners and other in the several counties and corporations in the State, will conform themselves to the provisions herein and receive such qualified voters as may offer their votes for the said senatorial Districts.
