The Commonwealth of Virginia--to the Sergeant of the city of Richmond, Greeting: --Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the representation in the Senate from the 18th Senatorial District composed of the city of Richmond, occasioned by the resignation of John Robertson, these are, therefore, in the name of the Commonwealth, to require you to cause an election to be held in your said city, on Thursday, the 28th day of May, 1863, for a Senator to fill the vacancy aforesaid.
