Ahead of time. --The account which represented the Yankee cavalry to have penetrated into Virginia as far as Columbia, Fluvanna county, and to have destroyed the canal bank and acqueduct at that place, proves to be incorrect. Residents of the place, who arrived here yesterday evening, report that no hostile Yankee had been seen within miles of the place; nor did the Yankees, as represented by a reliable party, destroy two trains on the York River Railroad. When they got in the neighborhood of that road it is probable that they were too busy in attending to their own safety.
