derlip, former proprietor of an oyster saloon on Broad st., was put on trial for having, in conjunction with another party, stolen a large fishing seine, offering it for sale to a gentleman who had expressed a desire to have an article of the kind. The jury found him guilty and assessed his term in the penitentiary at four years. About a month since the wife of the prisoner was put in jail for one year on a conviction for perjury. On Monday, in the case of James H Gilman and Archer. T Walton, tried for stealing four horses from J. E. Ledbetter, on the 8th of March last, the jury failed to agree, and were discharged at 9 o'clock at night. Yesterday Mary Smith, a young white girl, was put on trial for stealing $125 from Joseph Keplar. It appeared by the testimony that Kepler had gone into the girl's room with the money in his pocket. On coming out he found that he did not have it. On searching it was found behind a trunk in the prisoner's room. The jury was unable to agree
