The annexed card throws some light upon the capture of Major Raid Saunders, off the harbor of Charleston, some months ago, and proves conclusively that it was effected through the duplicity of Arnold Harris, who 3. This is to certify that I was mate of the yacht Mercury, commanded by Captain Arnold Harris, and owned by Major Reid Saunders. Said yacht was captured by the Yankee blockading squadron on the morning of the 5th of January.
