Murder at the City jail. --Yesterday a difficulty occurred at the city jail, by which one of the prisoners there, named Jas. Jones., lost his life. He was knocked in the head with a brick and lived but a few hours after receiving the blow. Suspicion rests upon another of the prisoners, named John Scott, who it is alleged, threw the brick though the rest of the prisoners who were present are most singular ignorant as to the perpetrator of the act.
