Severe hail storm.
A severe hail storm passed over Barksdale, about thirteen miles from Danville, Va., on Saturday afternoon. Hail commenced falling about 4½ o'clock, and for half an hour stones as large in some cases as ben's eggs were showered on the earth.
One was picked up weighing within a few grains of a pound.
It is feared much damage was sustained by the crops in that section.
