From the Southwest. Jackson, Miss., June 18.
--The enemy's cavalry made a dash on our outposts near Edwards's Depot yesterday, but found them too strong, and retreated across the Big Black again.
Scarcely a day passes without an accident on the Meridian road, which, being the principal means of transportation of supplies, has retarded Gen. Johnston's movements.
