1st June, Curry came to my house and invited me to go with him to Manchester. We went, and on our return to Richmond rode down to the market to get something to drink. After taking several drinks Jones and Wyatt challenged for a game of cards. Allen and myself played with them. I lost $1,400, then pledged my watch for $200 and lost that. Curry and myself went home, got money, came back, and I beat Jones out of $2,100, all the money he could raise. It was nearly 9 o'clock at night, and we n the morning of the 21st of June, Montelle and Curry came to Anderson's saloon, on 17th street, and went from there to Manchester. Shortly after they returned, and Montelle proposed a game of cards. We played, and Jones and myself beat him and Allen out of $1,400 in money, and $200 on his watch. In the afternoon Montelle and Curry returned. Montelle played with Jones, and won about $1,800. Peasley played at the other end of the counter with Curry, and beat him out of $300. The parties then
