Vera Cruz dates to the 14th ult. A French steamer had arrived at Vera Cruz with an English schooner in tow, which she had captured in the Rio Grande with a cargo of arms valued at $300,000, intended for the Texas rebels, though the schooner cleared from Liverpool for Matamoras.
