Charged with stealing a watch. --Michael O'Brien and Thomas Costello, two soldiers, charged with stealing a watch from Gen. Jos. W. Edwards, a few nights since, from the American Hotel, underwent an examination before the Mayor yesterday morning. It was proven that Costello obtained the watch under false pretences from Mr. Carrington, the proprietor of the American, with whom it had been deposited by Gen. E., Costello representing himself as a friend of E., and that he had been sent for Costello representing himself as a friend of E., and that he had been sent for the same. The watch was found on O'Brien, who said that he had obtained it from Costello to sell for him.
