case. --After the disposition of the regular business yesterday morning, the Mayor vacated his seat and called upon Mr. Sanxay to officiate. The case to be adjudicated was that of a negro woman named Sally Dabney, bringing complaint against offi the above points, we will now give the following proceedings which ensued during the investigation: Mr. Goddin to Mr. Sanxay.--"I desire to present this case in the order in which it should appear before you." Mr. Sanxay.--"I do not wish tMr. Sanxay.--"I do not wish to be interrupted in this matter. I can manage the case without your assistance." Mr. G.--Aunt Sally is a colored woman and cannot be a witness. I don't wish--" Mr. S. (irritated.)--"Don't interrupt me, Mr. Goddin; I will not be interrupted not strike the woman. Her neck might possibly have become scratched by my fingers when I caught her by the collar. Sally was exceedingly impudent and boisterous." This closed the evidence, and Mr. Sanxay promptly discharged officer Perrin.
