--To remain in or near the city, a pretty good looking black man, something over 30 years of age, said to be an excellent house servant, and he says he is a good hand to take care of horses and a good carriage driver.
A yellow man, about 23 years old, who is a good house servant and can drive a one horse carriage.

From Charleston. Charleston, Sept. 30th.
--The enemy fired slowly on Sumter yesterday; and also upon our James Island batteries, which kept up a constant shelling of their working parties with evident effect, Fort Moultrie also firing upon battery Grogg.
The fleet was quiet.
The enemy have completed their covered way between Gregg and Wagner, along which they drive their teams safely.
The Yankees are case mating their guns at Gregg and Wagner to protect their gunners from our shells.
Some of the embrasures point directly towards the city.

At Skinquarter the Rev. Mr. Winfree has been preaching daily to large congregations.
At Union Station, in this city, Rev. Mr. Christian, the Pastor, is holding a protracted meeting, the Church being crowded nightly.
Among the new converts and mourners are scores of soldiers from the adjoining camps and hospitals.
