Capture of marines. --A batch of Yankee marines passed through Meridian on Sunday night, on route for Mobile, that were taken while attending Divine worship in Rodney on Sunday the 13th. There were two officers (a captain and lieutenant) among them. They all belonged to the gunboat Rattler, patrolling the river about Rodney. On the 13th a portion of the crew, over 20 in number, determined to come on shore and attend church, as the boat would be anchored in front of the town for the day. Accordingly, at the usual hour, the small boats were manned and filled with "blue coats,"who, in a short time, were safety landed on , when they all proceeded to church. Our cavalry in the vicinity were immediately advised of their presence, and when they stepped out of the church door mine of Logan's men, "armed to the teeth," appeared before them.
