The Archbishop Purcell, accompanied by Bishop Rosecrans, appeared at the polls in Cincinnati on Tuesday, for the first time in twenty-five years, and voted an open Union ticket. A lot of about one thousand blankets, for the use of the Union prisoners in Richmond, has been already forwarded by the Government with instructions to distribute them to those most in want. If these got through safely to the parties for whom intended, it is designed to forward sufficient clothes, shoes, blankets, &c., to make the prisoners as comfortable as possible in the approaching cold weather. The Louisville Journal says that the rebels attacked Col. Wolford, on the 21st, beyond Philadelphia, Tennessee, and captured a battery of mountain howitzers, and a portion of his wagon train. In New York, on Friday last, gold was quoted at 145¾. This was an advance of 5⅔ on Thursday's rates, when it sold as low as 140.
