Charged with Murder. --William Keen and John McLaughlin, well known characters in the eastern part of the city, have been arrested and imprisoned on the charge of waylaying and murdering William Black, a resident of Rocketts old field, some three weeks since. Black and a companion were on their way home in the night time, walking arm in arm, when two parties approached them from the rear and gave Black a violent blow on the back of his head with a slung-shot, fracturing his skull in a frightful manner.--Black's companion immediately gave the alarm, and frightened off the murderers. The impression prevails that the two men who followed the deceased and his friend intended to assassinate and rob both of them, but that one of them failed to strike at the appointed signal, and thus a human life was spared.
