--Information has been received at the War Department in Washington of the death, at Johnson's Island, of Col. J. E. Seruggs, formerly editor of the Warrenton (Va.) Whig. The Virginia Hotel, at Staunton, Va., has been bought by Fred, Scheffer, of Woodstock, for $125,000, just $20,000 more than it sold for three weeks ago. A statue of Forrest, the actor, to cost $4,000, is to be set up in Boston. Over 400 beeves arrived in Danville, Va., on Monday, for the use of the Yankee prisoners there.
