Linwood robbery. --Thomas Collier and Mike Welsh alias Nelson, are charged with entering the Linwood House last Sunday night and robbing John S. Wimsatt of $100 in money, and other articles of value. Wimsatt, a paroled prisoner, but recently returned from Maryland, had taken lodging at the "Linwood." About 12 o'clock Sunday night, when he awoke, he found two men in his room, who pretended to be searching for a friend. Feeling under his pillow, and giving the alarm, the thieves fled with their booty, but were pursued by some of the boarders, one or two of whom recognized Collier; and one recognized Welsh.--Wimsatt says they took all the money he had, leaving him penniless. The Mayor adjourned the investigation to a future day, with the hope of getting other witnesses and facts by which to fix the guilt or innocence of the parties.
