By the Governor of Virginia. --A Proclamation.--Whereas, by reason of the presence of the public enemy in the county of Nansemond, the regular terms of the County Court cannot be held at the Court House, therefore, by virtue of authority vested in the Executive by law, I, William Smith, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, do hereby require the Justices composing the County Court of Nansemond county to hold the sessions of said Court at South Quay Church, in the said county, as long as the reason for the change hereby authorized shall continue. Given under my hand as Governor, and under the lesser seal of the Commonwealth, at Richmond, this 12th day of January, A D 1864, and in the 88th year of the Commonwealth. Wm Smith.
