By the Governor of Virginia.--a Proclamation.
--Information having been received by the Executive that E Hodson Moorefield, who was confined in the jail of Charlotte county under a charge of felony, escaped the reform on the night of the 24th December, 1863, and is now going at large: Therefore, I do hereby offer a reward of one hundred dollars to any person or persons who shall arrest the said Moorefield and deliver him into the jail of Charlotte county.
And I do moreover require allCharlotte county.
And I do moreover require all officers of this Commonwealth, civil and military, and request the people generally, to use their best exertions to procure the arrest of the said Moorefield, that he may be brought to justice.
Given under my hand as Governor of Virginia, and under the Lesser Seal of the Commonwealth, at Richmond, this 15th day of January, in the year 1864. Wm. Smith. Teste: Geo. W. Munford, Secretary of Commonwealth.
