From east Tennessee. Morristown, Feb. 9. --A flag of truce for the purpose of bringing a number of ladies out of Knoxville, went out yesterday. Gen. Martin's cavalry drove in the enemy's pickets, and captured one caisson and a few wagons within four miles of Knoxville yesterday.
Our Generals. --Gen. Hood has been promoted to a Lieutenant Generalcy, and will take command in about two weeks. The corps to which he has been assigned is understood to be that formerly under Gen'l D. H. Hill, in the army of Gen. Johnston. Gen'l McLaws is now at Morristown, for the purpose of answering the charges against him by Gen. Longstreet.
