Murder of a Hospital steward. --A most brutes murder was enacted at the Prast Hospital, Campliavis, on Thursday night by J. M. Windham, of Co. K, 234 S. C. Reg't. The particulars, as far as we can gather them, and these: On the night the murder was committed, Windham came to the hospital late in the night and demanded of Mr. Brown, the acting steward of the hospital, his supper; deceased told Windham of was after meal hours, and that his orders were to allow no meals to be given out after the second horn had been blown. Windham pronounced It and — a lie, and thereupon drew a knife, and stabbed Brown in the chest, severing the pulmonary artery and causing immediate death--Lynch. Virginian.
