g to act of Congress in the years 1863, by J. S. Thrasher, in the Clerk's office of the District Court of the Confederate States for the Northern District of Georgia.Yankee accounts of Forests raid. Atlanta, April 4. --The Cincinnati Commercial of the 28th is received. It contains many conflicting reports. Regarding Forrest's attack on Paducah, they state that he captured the place after four assaults, losing one hundred and fifty killed and one thousand wounded, among whom was Gen. Thompson of the 3d Kentucky. The Federal loss twelve killed and forty wounded.--Col. Hicks commanded the Yankee forces, which consisted of eight hundred. Forrest burnt all the Government stores. A telegram from Columbus, dated the 27th, say that Forrest was at Faulkner's, between that place and Mayfield. Their strength is much greater than at first estimated. Mayfield is filled with Rebel wounded, from 1,200 to 1,500 having arrived there. One regiment lost 101, and one company fifty killed.
