John and Ambrose, slaves of R D Early, Caesar, slave of R. C. Epperson, and William, slave of Wm. Lewis, were charged with stealing $335 and some valuable papers from Wm. E. Leffew. The evidence being insufficient to convict them they were discharged. A fine of five dollars was imposed upon Mr. George Anderson for his son throwing stones in the street.
