Judge: Irons's Court. --Littleton Tazewell, Esq., having gotten through with his engagements at the militia court martial, now sitting in this city, has resumed his duty as prosecuting attorney in Judge Lyons's Court. Yesterday the following cases were disposed of: Robert Patterson, indicted for burglariously entering Major Wm Allen's smokehouse and stealing a large lot of bacon, and also for receiving other goods which he knew to have been stolen, was tried, and the jury returned a verdict of petit larceny, not deeming the evidence sufficiently strong to convict him of grand larceny. Judge Lyons reserved his verdict till this morning. The jury in the case of Lee Whitehurst, indicted for stealing a bond for $1,200 from L P Leath, of Petersburg, and obtaining the money thereon by forging the endorsation, brought in a verdict of guilty, and assessed his punishment at one year in the penitentiary.
