, and from want he could learn, the rebel force on the north side of the Potomac consists of Gens. Johnson's, Early's and A. P. Hill's corps. He saw the most of Gens. Johnson's and Early's corps pasGens. Johnson's and Early's corps pass through and near Colesville. When the rebels came into Maryland nearly all were on foot, but they have picked up all the horses in the country through which they have passed, and now the most of them are mounted. Johnson took the east road from Colesville and moved toward Sertsville and the railroad. Early's corps came toward Washington on the Seventh street road, and it was understood nd thinks there were more than that number that he did not see. He conversed with the rebel General Johnson and other rebel officers, and thinks it was not their intention to take Washington, but to earnestly praying for dry weather to enable them to re- cross the Potomac without trouble. Johnson had seven pieces of artillery, but did not see any with Early. The Chronicle reports our f
