The result is not known. The next day the second Florida cavalry, under Lieutenant-Colonel McCormick, engaged the enemy at Brandy Branch, and at last accounts the fight was still progressing. General Patton Anderson has been relieved from his command in Florida and ordered to the army of Tennessee. General John K. Jackson has assumed command of the Florida department, and has arrived at headquarters. We are gratified to learn that our forces in Florida are sufficient to repel any attack the enemy may make.
