Richmond Circuit Court, August 5th, Judge Meredith presiding. --In the case of John S. Saunders, who sues out a writ of habeas corpus, directed to Major Peyton, commandant at Camp Lee, and who claims exemption from military service on the grounds of being a Minister of the Gospel and Justice of the Peace, the cause came on this day to be heard. After representations by the petitioner's counsel, bail was allowed the prisoner and the case was continued till the 12th instant. In the case of G. W. G. Estes, of Henry county, who claims exemption as a school teacher, it appearing that an application is now pending before the county board, the Judge adjourned the matter until to-morrow afternoon. Mr. A. F. Buford, delegate in the General Assembly from Pittsylvania county, qualified as an attorney to practice law in this court.
