of holding a picnic for the benefit of the Confederate prisoners at Fort Delaware, were released on parole last Saturday. Upon their return to Wilmington more than two thousand citizens turned out and gave them a grand ovation. The getters-up of the reception were arrested by the provost marshal, but it was not known what would be done with them. One thousand Confederate prisoners arrived in New York on Tuesday morning, on the Arago, from Point Lookout, Maryland, and left the same afternoon, by the Erie railroad, for Elmira. A dispatch from Washington, dated August 6, says an order has been issued directing that there shall be no more drafting under previous calls for troops. All deficiencies now outstanding shall be carried over to the draft to take place in September. A Baltimore dispatch of the 6th says: "General Grant was in Washington yesterday on military business. He has returned to the army. It is asserted he has gone up the Baltimore and Ohio railroad."
