for house rent, to the amount of one thousand three hundred dollars, purporting to have been due to C. C. Ellerson. Mr. Whitlock occupies a house belonging to J. W. Allison, but was called upon by Boyd to pay the bill upon a receipt given in the name mentioned above. The following are the facts of the case as related before the M signature, he refused to pay it till he could make some inquiry into the matter. The boy then left the store, and nothing more was heard of the matter till Mr. J. W.
