Judge Lyons's Court. --The time of this court was occupied yesterday in the trial of two cases, as follow: Charles Doherty, indicted for stealing money from John Driscoll, was the first who was arraigned for examination. After the examination of witnesses and argument of counsel, the case was given to the jury, who retired for a short time and then returned into court with a verdict of conviction, assessing his term of imprisonment in the penitentiary at one year. James H. Marshall, indicted for stealing money from Mrs. Mary Wade, was then put upon trial and plead not guilty. At the conclusion of counsel's argument, the jury took the case in hand and retired to the sergeant's office for deliberation; but a diversity of opinion arising among them as to the extent of the prisoner's guilt, no verdict was decided on by them up to a late hour in the evening.
