in that institution, five years additional confinement were added against him. Another charge, that of horse-stealing, is still pending to his account; but it is probable that a nolle prosequi will be entered by the prosecutor, in consideration of the long time the accused is condemned to confinement. The balance of the day's proceedings was consumed in disposing of the charges against Antonio Samanni, indicted for entering, by means of false keys, the iron safe of A. M. Baily & Co. and stealing sixteen thousand dollars in Confederate money, and stealing from the cast-pocket of John J. Palmer a package containing sundry papers and several hundred dollars in money. The jury in the first case brought in a verdict of guilty, and ascertained his term of imprisonment in the penitentiary at three years and six months. Upon the second charge he was acquitted. The court then adjourned till ten o'clock Monday morning. The grand jury will meet again to-day, according to adjournment.
