An English company is in charge, at present, of the projected railroad between Mexico and Vera Cruz. Mr. E. Barron has been elected one of the directors in Mexico. It is believed that the railroad will be finished in the course of four years. The Right Rev. Stephen D. Elliott, D. D., Bishop of Georgia, was elected President of the Georgia Historical Society on the 12th of September, vice C. S. Henry, deceased. Major Julian Mitchell and Captain Henry Binst were received at Charleston by flag of truce on the 3d instant. Both were in good health.
