slaves of Mrs. Elizabeth J. Timberlake, were charged with aiding and conniving at the escape to the Yankees of James, slave of Peter Webster, and John, slave of Dr. Edwin Epps. Information of the conduct of the accused was conveyed to Constable Joseph G. Mettert, of Henrico county, by the two negroes whose efforts to escape were being aided by them, and who were arrested by him upon suspicion of designing to leave their masters.
