Demorest's monthly. --This monthly, for December, is handed us by Messrs. A. H. Christian & Co. It is a rival journal of fashions and light literature (very light) to the great Leslie, (great humbug,) and is typographically very neat, and conducted with much enterprise. We regret to say that it will in no wise affect injuriously any of these journals to describe their merits accurately. In this age the epithet "humbug" is a recommendation, and to emphasise strongly the words "light literature" is to excite the deepest anxiety in the bosoms of some of the sweetest creatures on earth to read it. So fair readers, Demorest gives you the very latest fashions and a considerable amount of light reading into the bargain. Buy it.
