chmond and Fredericksburg Railroad Company have received two elegant passenger coaches from the manufactory of Murphy & Allison, of Philadelphia. These cars are, beyond a doubt, as handsome as any we have ever seen. They are built upon volante springs, with doubt beams; the outsides are tastefully painted and lettered, while the insides are of polished ash, with gilded panels. The cars have raised roofs, with patent ventilators. The seats are cushioned with red plush and backed with the finest Brussels carpet. There are in the cars conveniences for holding hats, carpet bags, &c., and each is supplied with a substantial water-cooler and kerosene lamps. They will each seat comfortably fifty-six passengers. These coaches were built under the direction of Mr. William N. Bragg, the efficient super- intendent, and are really a credit to his taste and judgment. Another car, equally handsome and serviceable, is in progress of construction at the shops of the Company in this city.
