SEP. Q. HATERII
the tomb of a Q. Haterius, perhaps the orator who
died in 26 A.D. (Pros. ii. 126. 17), on the via Nomentana. It was
covered by one of the towers which Honorius built outside the porta
Nomentana, and the excavations of 1827 brought to light fragments
that showed it to have been a rectangular monument, surmounted with
a sort of altar with volutes (CIL vi. 1426, and description cited from
Memorie Romane iii. 456; HJ 383; Jord. i. I. 344; PBS iii. 38; Homo,
Aurelien 243-244; cf. HATERIUS LATRONIANUS, DOMUS.
