The present to Col. Withers. --We mentioned the circumstance a day or two ago that several of our prominent and patriotic citizens had it in contemplation to present Col. Jones M. Withers, of the Third Alabama Regiment of Volunteers, at Norfolk, with a fine horse for use in defence of Virginia soil.--The purchase has been made, and sent down to Norfolk. The horse is a celebrated racer and stallion, named Peg Top, thorough-bred, beautiful blood bay, medium size, very active, perfectly gentle, and four years old.
