John Herbig (search for this): article 10
Nearly Ready. --Captain John Herbig, of the Infirmary company, has nearly succeeded in furnishing his corps with every article desired for the peculiar duty to which they will devote their exertions on the field of battle, and he expects to report for duty in a few days. We are surprised that more companies of this description have not been formed ere this. Their exertions in saving the lives of the wounded by timely exertion and ready aid, can only be appreciated by one who has witnessed the horrors of the battle-field, and seen with sorrow the lives of brave men ebb away for the want of the most trivial attention. It is the province of the Infirmary company to attend to the wounded on the field, and for this purpose they will be provided with everything necessary to accomplish the object.
