From Fredericksburg.
The news from the army yesterday is unimportant there being no change in the position of affairs to record.
It is still believed that a fight must take place at no distant day. There have already been several skirmishes along the lines, indicating.
It is believed, the near approach of a decisive straggle.
On Wednesday last Gen. Hampton's cavalry captured a picket at Stafford Store, consisting of a Lieutenant and five men. Their names as we have learned them, are Lieut. J. H. Hoffman, Corporal A. P. Kelley, Privates Thomas Rainer, J. B. Campbell C. Cook, and John Mason — all of them members of Company F, 1st New Jersey cavalry.
Cook was captured on the 20th of August last, on the Rappahannock, by Gen. Robertson's cavalry, so that this is his second trip to Richmond.
Passengers by the train from Fredericksburg last night report that a skirmish occurred on Wednesday afternoon between a body of the enemy's cavalry and a detachment of the 10th Virgini
